Manjushri Bodhisattva

The Wisdom Buddha; the manifestation of all the Buddhas’ wisdom. His hands hold the stems of upala flowers, which on his right support a wisdom sword symbolizing his wisdom that cuts through ignorance, and on his left support the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra in Eight Thousand Lines, indicating that by relying upon Manjushri we can develop the wisdom eye with which we can see the entire meaning of Buddha’s Perfection of Wisdom Sutras. Buddha Manjushri and Bodhisattva Manjushri are different aspects of the same person. When he appeared as one of Buddha Shakyamuni's main disciples he was called 'Bodhisattva Manjushri'.
