Introduction

This booklet contains the rituals for two ceremonies: the Mahayana Refuge Ceremony and the Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony. The rituals for both ceremonies are the same up to and including the ritual for offering the generation of bodhichitta on page 18. For the Mahayana Refuge Ceremony you should then proceed to the special dedication on page 19, but for the Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony you should continue with the rituals for maintaining aspiring bodhichitta by means of ritual, taking the Bodhisattva vows, and maintaining joy and conscientiousness. From the special dedication (page 19) onwards, the rituals are the same for both ceremonies.

Lastly, it should be noted that the wording for the requesting and thanking mandalas varies slightly depending upon which ceremony is being followed.
